Highlights include: * “Storms uncover massive beach plastic pollution” (read here) * Colleen Hughson and Gary Ryan on **Triple R Radio Marinara** discussing solutions for fishing debris. * **Massive 738kg of rubbish collected in bay clean-up **featured on **Eco Voice. **Read here. **Grants and Growth** Thanks to a **Warrnambool City Council community grant**, we purchased a mobile defibrillator, volunteer t-shirts, and other safety gear. These investments ensure our group can continue thriving. We also received a generous donation from Rotary Club Warrnambool East which has assisted us with keeping our Bottle Overboard data entry up-to-date. **Bottles Overboard** This year we’ve collected over **1,000 foreign-origin bottles** not sold in Australia, and Colleen submitted a **Bottles Overboard Data Report** to the **IMO**. This report was co-sponsored by Clean Arctic Alliance, Friends of the Earth International and the Clean Shipping Coalition. This effort highlights the issue of illegal marine plastic discharge and pushes for global action. **Looking Ahead to 2025** While we celebrate the progress made, we remain committed to tackling the ongoing challenges our oceans face.
